MBACP Counsellor & Wellbeing Consultant, Edinburgh
At times it can feel as though we have a lot going on at once and somehow we are stuck and unable to move forward ourselves.
Other people seem to have it together, and we wonder, "Why am I struggling?" This change should be exciting, so "Why am I anxious and paralyzed?"
We start to doubt our choices and our abilities.
I support people to navigate the anxiety of life transitions and get clarity on what is important to them. After therapy I want clients to feel like they have the skills to cope with obstacles they may face.
Having moved every few years growing up, and being 'uprooted' into new culture and places, my own experiences of coping with change eventually lead me to become a therapist.
I'm not a 'stare & nod' kind of therapist.
During our time together, I may push your boundaries a little, share my thoughts or ask questions. Therapy is hard work but alongside the ‘hard bits’ of therapy, there is always also time to laugh when something is genuinely funny, swear if it's appropriate and celebrate successes.
I hope my website gives you a better idea who I am as a therapist and how I can help you get where you would like to be. Please ask me any question and if you are ready to start making a plan on how we can work together in Edinburgh or online, make an appointment using the button below.
I look forward to connecting with you soon.
Life transitions I specialise in
Private Counselling & Psychotherapy
in Edinburgh or Online
Anxiety and stress over change is a normal reaction to change and uncertainty. Entering counselling with a therapist can provide a space to reflect and find ways of coping with those normal reactions so they no longer seem as overwhelming and paralyzing.
In my work as a counsellor I have a special interest in working with three types of life transitions; students experiencing anxiety at University, anxiety in more general settings, and individuals experiencing anxiety early in pregnancy and needing support. I practice as a therapist both in Edinburgh and online.
Therapy is a process and the decision to begin seeing a private counsellor is not made lightly. Finding a therapist who understands what you are hoping to achieve from counselling can be daunting. If you have any questions about my experience or if I am the right counsellor for you, please get in touch or make an initial appointment to speak in more depth about how counselling might be a good fit for you.
