Struggling with Anxiety?

Counselling for Anxiety

Experiencing anxiety can easily begin to feel like a source of great stress in of itself.  The anxiety can stop us from being able to live the life we want and instead we spend more and more of our time trying to avoid.

Many people develop ways of coping that work in the short term but have long term consequences. Counselling can offer a place to develop new skills for managing anxiety.

I never promise that anxiety will go away, but I do work closely with clients to help them live meaningful and productive lives despite anxiety.

Areas I commonly work with include...

  • anxiety about social distuations

  • work related anxiety

  • anxiety around boundaries

  • building coping strategies

  • understanding anxiety

Though I mostly work with clients located in Edinburgh, I am able to see clients living in other cities online. If you would like to discuss how we might work together use the button below to book an initial session.

  • Feeling weird and detached from surroundings

  • Pounding heart

  • Unexplained fear

Private Counselling & Psychotherapy

in Edinburgh or Online

Anxiety and stress over change is a normal reaction to change and uncertainty. Entering counselling with a therapist can provide a space to reflect and find ways of coping with those normal reactions so they no longer seem as overwhelming and paralyzing

In my work as a counsellor I have a special interest in working with three types of life transitions; students experiencing anxiety at University, professionals struggling with stress and uncertainty in their career, and individuals experiencing anxiety early in pregnancy and needing support. I practice as a therapist both in Edinburgh and online.

Therapy is a process and the decision to begin seeing a private counsellor is not made lightly. Finding a therapist who understands what you are hoping to achieve from counselling can be daunting. If you have any questions about my experience or if I am the right counsellor for you, please get in touch or make an initial appointment to speak in more depth about how counselling might be a good fit for you.
