What happens in therapy?

After you make contact we will arrange an appointment for an initial session. The initial session is a space for us to begin to explore your unique needs and to decide jointly if therapy may be helpful for you. This first session is a chance to decide if we want to work together and for you to start telling your story. It is important that you find a therapist you feel comfortable working with as this can make a substantial difference to the outcome of therapy. The initial session is a place to decide if you would like to continue with further sessions and to consider your ability to commit to regular weekly or bi-weekly sessions.

How long will I need therapy for?

Each person is unique and there is no simple answer to this question. I offer both long and short time counselling to suit varied needs. You are free to end therapy whenever you like however it is helpful for us to agree and plan for an ending together.

How can I pay?

You can pay by cash, cheque or card at the beginning or end of each sessions. I also accept payment before a session via BACS transfer. You will be given a receipt if you require one.
